Bodum's new Bistro Flatbed Toaster is, in a word, brilliant. It's designed for the kind of breadstuffs that most people eat on a regular basis -- pizza, tortillas, rolls, bagels, croissants, sandwiches and similar foods that don't go in vertical toaster slots. It's also a perfect way to defrost frozen breads.
The toasting is done griddle-style, on a horizontal surface using a dial that controls temperatures. When not in use, it can be stored on its side, which gives it a super-slim profile in cramped kitchens. Oh, and did we mention the great colors?
